The Best Professional Clipper for Balding Buzz Cuts

Wahl Balding Hair Clippers are the best for bald shave buzz cuts

Review of the Wahl 5-Star Balding

Sometimes you don't need a hair clipper to style hair, but just one which cuts smoothly, and very close to the scalp for a clean shaved head look.

There are very few clippers that can cut hair to zero, and out of these few, the the best clipper for bald cuts is by far the Wahl Balding . Let's see why.

The most important features of Wahl Balding

The most "prized element" of this product is the blade. To cut to zero, you need an extremely sharp blade of good quality.

That is exactly what the Wahl Balding Hair Clipper brings to the table. Now the extreme sharpness has its obvious pro, but also has its cons. One of these is that you must be extremely careful and focused when using this clipper, otherwise you risk getting hurt or hurting your client.

The Wahl Balding is used by professional hairdressers and barbers because of the robust and powerful engine. The constant use and the continuous ON-OFF steps require that the engine have industrial capabilities and the Wahl’s engine was created for this purpose.

What surprised me is that the motor is extremely silent if you take into account its great power.

It has an ergonomic design with non slip grip so that it will not slip out of your hand while in operation and this will also ensure you have complete control of the hair cutting machine when working your magic.

Like all Wahl models, the materials are very robust and if you take care of it, this machine should last for a very long time even if used extensively.

Unfortunately, this Wahl model only comes as a corded machine. This might not be as convenient, however it does ensure you always get the maximum power.

Our Final Review Comments on the Wahl Balding Clippers

The Wahl Professional Balding Series 5-star is undoubtedly the best professional clipper for buzz cuts to zero. It's ideal for professional hairdressers and barbers with experience but not recommended for first time users.

Thanks to its extremely high quality of material this machine will last you for a long time and the price is very reasonable, especially if you get it from online stores like Amazon where you can find very good price brackets for this product.

We recommend this model for the more experienced users. For a more detailed review please click here.

    1. Hi Stacey thanks for your comment. Indeed Oster is one of the top brands for hair clippers, and if my list was just slightly longer, the Oster Classic 76 would have definitely made the cut, however in my opinion the ones I’ve listed just have something superior, especially the Panasonic models since they give more maneuverability and cutting options to barbers. Having said this, the Oster is always a welcome addition to a barber’s tool set.

      1. Hey just curious I never see any Americans use the PANASONIC I looked all over youtube and the majority is Brazilian/Asian/European, it looks like it does amazing work but the barbers all tend to lean on the other things on your list do you know why?

        1. Agreed Marc. It could be how they are powered. I had my beard trimmed in Germany last week and they we’re using the ER-1611 which had the European plug, hence 220 volts. Maybe Mr. Borg can clarify if the Panasonics are also manufactured with US standards.

          1. That’s a good observation Marc and it is very true. Most barbers haven’t got around using Panasonic in the US, reason being that Panasonic only introduced its range of Professional cutting tools for barbers in early 2016. On the other hand they have been well established in Europe for over 20 years.

So, basically, it’s just a matter of US barbers having to get used to the brand. Given the success that Panasonic had in other parts of the world I am quite sure that it will only be a matter of time until we see more and more professional hair stylists and barbers in the USA using Panasonic within their range of tools.
